Detroit Lions Wide Receiver to Pursue Nurse Anesthesia Degree After Football

Detroit Lions wide receiver Nate Hughes plans to become a certified registered nurse anesthetist when his football career ends, according to a WXYZ report.

According to the report, the average NFL career lasts 3.3 years. Mr. Hughes is one class shy of receiving his master's degree in nursing, and he plans to study anesthesia at Michigan State University when his career ends.

During his time with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Mr. Hughes said he helped team physicians with IVs when players were dehydrated.
