The American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology named U.S. Rep. Suzanne Bonamici, D-Ore., as the recipient of its National Health Leadership Award for 2026.

The award was presented at the group’s Mid-Year Assembly in Washington, D.C., according to an April 29 news release.

Ms. Bonamici, first elected in 2012, serves as co-chair of the House Nursing Caucus and has supported legislation focused on expanding access to care provided by CRNAs and other advanced practice registered nurses.

She is a cosponsor of the Improving Care and Access to Nurses Act and the Ensuring Veterans Timely Access to Anesthesia Care Act and has backed funding for Title VIII nursing workforce programs.

The award, established in 1992, recognizes federal policymakers who contribute to national health policy and support access to anesthesia services, according to the release.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
