The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid’s proposed rule on the physician fee schedule includes the suggestion that nurse anesthetists be reimbursed for anesthesia and pain management services, according to a report from the American Society of Anesthesiologists.
CMS proposed that CRNAs be reimbursed for all surgical services related to anesthesia as long as the CRNA is allowed to perform the services under state law.
