California hospital adds anesthesiology residency program: 3 key notes

Visalia, Calif.-based Kaweah Delta Medical Center, the first hospital in central San Joaquin Valley, is offering an anesthesiology residency program, The Fresno Bee reports.

Here’s what you should know.

1. The hospital is now accepting applications for its new residency program. Hospital officials expect the program to begin in June 2017.

2. Anesthesiology Program Director Michael Pesce, MD, said the residency will benefit both current and future California Central Valley residents.

3. The hospital has residencies in family medicine, emergency medicine, psychiatry, general surgery and transition year, a year in general medicine and a year in a specialty practice.
