The American Society of Anesthesiologists selected Alex Hannenberg, MD, as its next interim chief quality officer.

1. Dr. Hannenberg will lead the society's quality and practice advancement divisions, while also establishing relationships with regulatory, scientific and medical organizations.
2. Dr. Hannenberg is a past ASA president, a past committee on economics chairperson and a past administrative council vice president for professional affairs.
3. The ASA award Dr. Hannenberg it's Distinguished Service Award in 2015.
4. ASA CEO Paul Pomerantz said in a release, "With the continual transformation in healthcare, ASA is excited to have the insight and critical experience of Dr. Hannenberg as interim chief quality officer."
