ASA is also asking for an exemption in implementing drug-to-drug and drug-to-allergy interaction checks. These requested exemptions are aimed to help anesthesiologists reasonably achieve meaningful use and share meaningful data, according to the report.
ASA also teamed with a coalition of physicians specialties to raise concerns about the newest phase of meaningful use criteria, stating that many EHR systems do not work in a way that meets meaningful use requirements or patient needs.
