ASA honors Dr. John Neeld with 2013 Distinguished Service Award

John Neeld, MD, received the 2013 Distinguished Service Award from the American Society of Anesthesiologists in recognition of his contributions to dramatically advance the safety of anesthesia.

Dr. Neeld is chairman emeritus of the anesthesiology department at Northside Hospital as well as member and chair-emeritus of the management committee at Northside Anesthesiology Consultants, both located in Atlanta.

Dr. Neeld currently serves chairman of the ASA Section Council to the American Medical Association and chairman, board of directors of the American Medical Association PAC.

The award is the highest honor ASA bestows.
