Dr. Peterson will assume the position immediately.
Here’s what you should know:
1. Dr. Peterson currently serves as the vice president of Corpus Christi, Texas-based Driscoll Children’s Health System.
2. She is also the president and CEO of Driscoll Children’s Health Plan, a nonprofit, community-based health insurance plan.
3. Dr. Peterson will serve on the ASA’s Executive Committee.
4. She most recently served as ASA’s treasurer.
5. Dr. Peterson earned her medical degree from Galveston-based University of Texas, where she also completed her residency. She earned a master of science degree in healthcare administration from San Antonio-based Trinity University.
