Anesthesiologist No. 1 on U.S. News & World Report’s ‘Best Paying Jobs’ of 2018

U.S. News & World Report updated its ‘Best Paying Jobs’ list, bestowing top honors on anesthesiologists.

Here’s what you should know:

1. Anesthesiologist is 2018’s best paying job, securing the honor over 24 other professions. Fourteen of the 25 top paying professions are in the medical field, with the top 11 best paying jobs all based in medicine.

2. Nurse anesthetist was No. 11 on the list.

3. U.S. News & World Report said there are 5,900 anesthesiologists in the U.S. earning a median salary of $208,000. Surgeon, obstetrician and gynecologist, oral and maxillofacial surgeon and orthodontist all also have median salaries of $208,000.

4. On U.S. News & World Report’s 2018 ‘Best Jobs List,’ anesthesiologist was 13 of 100.
