Luis E. Cummings Jr., MD, opened a private clinic, Ponce Interventional Pain Center, in Ponce, Puerto Rico.
Here's what you should know:
1. He is an anesthesiologist at the clinic, as well as its director of pain management. He is also an assistant professor at Ponce Health Sciences University in Ponce, Puerto Rico.
2. Dr. Cummings worked at Ponce-based Caribbean Cardio General Anesthesia for more than two decades and served as the organization's president.
3. He is a member of several organizations: the American Medical Association, American Society of Anesthesiologists, American Academy of Pain Management, American Society Of Interventional Pain Physicians and World Institute of Pain.
4. After Dr. Cummings earned his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he completed an internship at Newark, N.J.-based University Hospital. He underwent residency training at Jackson Memorial Hospital and the University of Miami, both in Florida.
