Anesthesiologist Dr. Brian Davidson to Run for University of Colorado Regent's Seat

Brian Davidson, MD, an anesthesiologist at the University of Colorado's Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colo., will run as a Republican for the university's open Board of Regents at-large seat, according to a Durango Herald report.

His only opponent as of yet is current at-large Regent Stephen Ludwig, a Democrat, who will be running as the incumbent.

Dr. Davidson is the associate department chairman for healthcare quality and patient safety and assistant medical director for operating room services at the Anschutz Medical Campus. He is also a member of the University of Colorado Hospital Medical Board and is serving his third appointment to the Colorado State Board of Dental Examiners as a governor-appointed public member.

Dr. Davidson said his main focus will be to make the university affordable for middle-class families by using electronic media to decrease costs.
