Here are five things to know about Mr. Harvey:
1. He teaches CRNAs, anesthesiologists and ophthalmologists about ophthalmic anesthesia, with an emphasis on orbital blocks.
2. Mr. Harvey created and teaches an ophthalmic block workshop, which includes a discussion on issues relating to accreditation, evidence-based practices and regulation.
3. He authored a chapter on anesthesia for ophthalmic procedures in the textbook Nurse Anesthesia.
4. He is a founding member of the Ophthalmic Anesthesia Society.
5. He holds an associate of science degree in nursing from Valencia College in Orlando, Fla., and a certification in anesthesia from Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C.
