9 Recently Acquired Anesthesia Practices

Here are nine anesthesia practices acquired within the least year.

North American Partners in Anesthesia acquired Norwich (Conn.) Anesthesia Associates, a medical practice providing anesthesiology services at William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich.

Mednax acquired Florida Atlantic Anesthesia, a Fort Lauderdale-based physician group practice that provides anesthesia services in cardiology, orthopedics, endoscopy procedures and plastic surgery at Holy Cross Hospital and Holy Cross HealthPlex, also located in Fort Lauderdale.

American Anesthesiology acquired Brazos Anesthesiology Associates, a physician group practice based in Bryan, Texas. The practice has provided anesthesia services and chronic pain management for more than 24 years at several locations, including St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan, College Station Medical Center in College Station, and Physicians Center in Bryan.

TeamHealth acquired Bergen Anesthesia Associates in Teaneck, N.J., and Teaneck (N.J.) Anesthesia Group. The groups provided anesthesia management services to Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck, N.J., and three independent ambulatory surgical centers.

Mednax acquired Burlington (N.C.) Anesthesia, which was established in 1978 and provided anesthesia services at Alamance Regional Medical Center and Pioneer Ambulatory Surgery Center, both located in Burlington.

Banner Health, the owner of McKee Medical Center in Loveland, Colo., and operator of North Colorado Medical Center in Greenley, added Loveland Anesthesia Associates to its holdings. Loveland Anesthesia Associates has been associated with McKee Medical Center since the hospital opened in 1976. The group is now known as Banner Health Clinic-Loveland Anesthesia.

American Anesthesiology acquired Austin (Tex.) Anesthesiology Group, which served as the exclusive provider of anesthesia services at four St. David's HealthCare System hospitals, 11 ambulatory surgery centers and several office-based locations in Austin.

American Anesthesiology acquired Pinnacle Anesthesia, a physician group practice based in Palm Beach County, Fla., and the exclusive provider of anesthesia services at Delray Medical Center and West Boca Medical Center.
