5 facts about ASA’s new president, Dr. Linda Mason

The American Society of Anesthesiologists selected Linda J. Mason, MD, as its new president.

Here are five facts:

1. Dr. Mason was named president during Anesthesiology 2018, Oct. 13-17 in San Francisco.

2. Dr. Mason is Loma Linda (Calif.) University Medical Center’s pediatric anesthesiology director and a pediatric anesthesiology professor.

3. Dr. Mason has served on ASA’s administrative council, membership committee, administrative and board administrative sections and board of directors.

4. Dr. Mason is past president of the California Society of Anesthesiologists and Association of Anesthesiology Subspecialty Program Directors. She was also a member of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education Review Committee for Anesthesiology.

5. She has presented more than 570 lectures and visiting professorships.
