Around 100 physicians attended the conference, April 27 in Rosemont, Ill.
Physicians presented on topics including:
- Anesthesia education
- High-risk patient identification
- Anesthesia administration and monitoring techniques
- Emergency preparedness
AAOMS president Douglas Fain, DDS, MD, said in a release, “Our primary concern is the safety of the patient. AAOMS believes the ability to provide dental sedation in an ambulatory or office setting is both a privilege and a profound responsibility.”
Several professional societies were represented including: AAOMS, the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, American Society of Anesthesiology and Anesthesia Patient Safety Foundation.
