The Association of University Anesthesiologists selected Harriet Hopf, MD, as the 2026 recipient of its Leadership Advisory Board Mentoring Award.

The award honors “sustained dedication to mentoring and sponsoring faculty in anesthesiology.” Recipients are chosen following a review of detailed nominations, letters of support and evidence of long-term mentorship impact by members of the AUA Leadership Advisory Board, according to a March 31 news release.

Dr. Hopf, a faculty member at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, was formally recognized during the Leadership Advisory Board Award Session at the AUA Annual Meeting on March 28 in Seattle.

Throughout her career, Dr. Hopf has supported faculty development, fostered academic growth and built lasting mentoring relationships. Her work has helped shape a collaborative and supportive culture in academic anesthesiology, according to the release.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
