St. Luke’s Health–The Woodlands (Texas) Hospital has launched advanced gastrointestinal endoscopy services in collaboration with Houston-based Baylor College of Medicine’s Center for Advanced Endoscopy.

The expansion brings Baylor Medicine faculty to the hospital, offering diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures previously limited to the Texas Medical Center. These include treatments for pancreatic disease, bile duct blockages, early cancer removal and esophageal conditions such as Barrett’s esophagus, according to a Nov. 3 Woodlands Online report.

The program is led by Wasif Abidi, MD, director of the BCM Center for Advanced Endoscopy, and supported by faculty from Baylor’s Department of Medicine, including Hashem El-Serag, MD, and Mohamed Othman, MD.
