Dallas-based Surgical Automations, a surgical robotics company focused on gastrointestinal endoscopy, closed a $3.4 million oversubscribed seed round earlier this year, according to an Oct. 30 press release.
Surgical Automations is developing the Vāsuki Robotic System, a platform designed to automate complex steps in upper and lower GI procedures using robotics and AI-based navigation. The company said it continues to operate under the radar as it advances the system toward pre-clinical validation and first-in-human studies.
The round was co-led by Fred Moll, MD, founder of Intuitive Surgical, and India–based venture firm TurboStart. Additional participants included individual physicians and members of community organizations such as the Rajput Association of North America, the IIT Alumni Association of North Texas and the Maharana Association of North America.
