Bon Secours Mercy Health, Compass Surgical Partners and local physicians have opened an orthopedic ASC in Newport News, Va.

The 20,000-square-foot Coastal Virginia Surgery Center features four operating rooms and will offer total joint replacements, orthopedic procedures for the upper and lower extremities, as well as spine and pain management services, according to a Sept. 30 news release.

“Coastal Virginia Surgery Center is led by surgeons who live and practice in this community,” physician partner Boyd Haynes, III, MD, sports medicine specialist at Newport News-based Orthopaedic & Spine Center, said in the release. “We have a direct hand in how it  is designed, staffed, and equipped, which means it reflects what we believe patients deserve: a safe, efficient and highly personalized surgical experience.”

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
