Penn Highlands Healthcare adds gastroenterologist

DuBois, Pa.-based Penn Highlands Healthcare has added gastroenterologist Obaid Shaikh, MD, to its medical staff. 

He is seeing patients at Penn Highlands Gastroenterology, according to an Aug. 23 report by GANT News.

Dr. Shaikh specializes in conditions affecting the esophagus, stomach, intestines, pancreas, gallbladder, bile ducts and liver. His clinical expertise includes the treatment of chronic and acute GI diseases, biliary and pancreatic disorders, colorectal cancer, irritable bowel syndrome, liver disease and ulcerative colitis.

Prior to joining Penn Highlands, Dr. Shaikh practiced at VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System , University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and the Veterans Affairs Healthcare System in Pittsburgh.
