Here are three cardiology center closures Becker’s has reported on in the last year:

1. Butte, Mont.-based Providence Heart Institute permanently shuttered in July, leaving the 3,000 patients it serves without a provider. The institute, located inside Butte Hospital, had 10 providers on staff.

2. In September, the Vascular Surgery Center inside Colorado Springs’ (Colo.) Penrose Hospital shuttered abruptly.

3. Auburn (N.Y.) Cardiology Associates closed its doors Sept. 30 after nearly four decades following the retirement of owner and head physician Rama Godishala, MD.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
