5 important CRNA updates for ASC leaders

Here are five updates on CRNAs for industry leaders to know, as reported by Becker’s since June 3:

  1. More than 40% of CRNAs support updating discharge policies to allow patients post-anesthesia to leave with rideshare services if accompanied by an adult, according to a report from Georgia Public Broadcasting. 
  2. UnitedHealthcare issued a policy update on July 1 that will cut reimbursements for certified registered nurse anesthetists by 15%. 
  3. Madison, Wis.-based Edgewood College launched a Doctor of Nursing Practice program.
  4. CRNA pay increased the most from 2023 to 2024 in Florida, and decreased the most in California.
  5. Center Valley, Pa.-based DeSales University partnered with St. Luke’s University Health Network in Jim Thorpe, Pa., to launch a certified registered nurse anesthetist program.
