Norfolk, Va.-based Sentara Health has joined forces with Manassas, Va.-based Carient Heart & Vascular and Woodbridge, Va.-based Polaris Heart & Vascular Clinic to launch the Northern Virginia Heart & Vascular Center — the region’s first outpatient cardiovascular facility, according to an Aug. 12 Potomac Local News report.
The $7.1 million center, located in Woodbridge, began treating patients July 24. It offers procedures such as cardiac catheterizations, pacemaker and ICD implants and care for peripheral vascular disease.
The center will expand access, reduce costs and free hospital resources for more complex cases. Patients typically return home within hours, with lower out-of-pocket expenses than they would have incurred in an inpatient setting, according to the report.
At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
