Computer Glitch Affects Up to 17,000 Atlanta Medical Bills

Up to 17,000 patients of Atlanta-based Morehouse Medical Associates could receive medical bills with no itemization, details of services rendered or explanation of when the services were provided, according to an 11Alive report.

According to the report, some patient bills will arrive almost a year after the procedure. Morehouse School of Medicine, an affiliate of Morehouse Medical Associates, said a computer glitch occurred when Morehouse Medical Associates transitioned to a new computer billing system.

The move and associated glitch resulted in thousands of bills that requested payment without details, according to the report.
