Gramercy Surgery Center in New York City agreed to settle a class-action lawsuit stemming from a 2024 data breach.

The lawsuit, brought by Barbara Horvath on behalf of the surgery center patients,  alleges that in the June 2024 data incident, cybercriminals potentially accessed files that contained individuals’ private information, according to a June 30 news release from Angeion Group, a settlement administrator.

GSC discovered its IT network was breached between June 14 and June 17, 2024, with the unauthorized party accessing information of up to 50,000 individuals.

The surgery center denies all claims alleged against it and denies any wrongdoing, the release said.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
