Hartford HealthCare subsidiary files CON to operate Connecticut ASC

HHC Surgery Center Holdings, an affiliate of Hartford (Conn.) HealthCare, has filed for a certificate of need to operate the Surgical Center of Connecticut in Bridgeport, according to a June 18 report from Westfair Business Journal.

The ASC is currently operated by the Surgical Center of Connecticut, affiliated with management organization Surgical Care Affiliates. 

The free-standing ASC houses several surgical specialties, including endoscopy and spine surgery. 

Currently, the surgical staff is comprised of physicians affiliated with Bridgeport Hospital, Griffin Hospital, St. Vincent’s Hospital, Norwalk Hospital and Milford Hospital.
