Two physicians at the University of Cincinnati Health have completed the first implant of a fully tissue-engineered tricuspid valve in Ohio, WLWT reported June 8.
Christiano Spadaccio, MD, and Antonio Panza, MD, both professors within UC College of Medicine’s cardiac surgery department, completed the procedure.
UC Health told WLWT that the implant utilizes the patient’s own tissue to lower the risk of complications. The hospital is one of 14 facilities in the U.S. to offer the procedure.
At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
