The company, which operates 54 surgical facilities, reported revenue of $109.3 million for the quarter, up from $83.5 million in the first quarter of 2010. Symbion also saw its net loss decline to $2.4 million from the $5.6 million reported in the first quarter of 2010.
The improvements were attributable, in part, to acquisitions — one facility for consolidated reporting purposes and an incremental ownership stake in a Missouri surgery center, according to the report.
