The 31,200-square-foot ASC will provide services in specialties including orthopedic, hand, podiatry, urology, gynecology and otolaryngology surgery, according to a news release from the hospital. It will feature four ORs and is expected to be completed in late winter of 2012.

The ASC project recently received state exemption from environment review. It has also faced opposition from some local residents.

The hospital is building the ASC as part of a larger hospital expansion project.
