Dayton, Ohio-based Miami Valley Hospital is rescheduling some elective surgeries after learning one of its contracted anesthesia groups will cease operations in June, according to an April 16 report from NBC affiliate WDTN.

The hospital is an affiliate of Dayton-based Premier Health, the largest comprehensive health system in the region.

The system did not name the anesthesia contractor and clarified that only elective surgeries are being rescheduled.

“We are actively working to transition those anesthesia clinicians to employment with Premier Health or one of our other existing anesthesia providers, with the goal of minimizing any disruption to elective surgeries and upholding the high standards of care our patients and care teams expect and deserve,” the system told WDTN.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
