Texas Surgery Center Sues Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas Over Alleged Breach of Contract

Mid-Town Surgical Center in Houston filed a lawsuit on May 4 in the Harris County District Court against Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, alleging breach of contract and negligent representation, according to an Ultimate East End report.

Mid-Town Surgical Center alleges that over the past several years, the insurance company has underpaid or denied claims for medically necessary healthcare services. According to the report, the surgery center has unsuccessfully made efforts to resolve the dispute.

Mid-Town Surgical Center is seeking compensatory and statutory damages in addition to attorney’s fees and court costs.
