Here are the states with the most and fewest number of cardiologists, according to 2024 data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, published April 2.

The bureau released updated annual mean wage compensation data to reflect May 2024 information, the latest available. 

States with most cardiologists: 

  1. New York: 2,260  
  2. Texas: 1,530  
  3. Georgia: 1,520  
  4. Pennsylvania: 820  
  5. Ohio: 770  
  6. Massachusetts: 660  
  7. Tennessee: 570  
  8. Florida: 550  
  9. Virginia: 510  
  10. Michigan: 500

States with fewest:
