Gastroenterology society bestows ‘shark tank’ honor to Montreal firm
The Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons has selected Montreal-based FemTherapeutics the winner of its 2025 “shark tank”-style competition at its annual meeting in Long Beach, Calif.
The competition is designed to support clinicians focused on commercializing their innovations through investment capital, according to a March 27 press release sent to Becker’s.
As the winner, FemTherapeutics earns a $30,000 investment from SAGES. Other runner-ups for 2025 include Suture Shield, Qaelon and Evolving Education.
FemTherapeutics aims to provide solutions for common pelvic health conditions, and its flagship product is a personalized intravaginal prosthetic designed to manage pelvic organ prolapse. The company hopes to use the money to expand into incontinence, pelvic pain and maternal health.
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
