State OKs HSHS St. Elizabeth’s outpatient surgery center, medical office building

O’Fallon, Ill.-based HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital has earned state approval to construct an outpatient surgical center and medical office building, according to a March 19 report from RiverBender.com.

The Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board approved the new facility, which will be located on the hospital’s campus, March 18.

The three-story building will span 70,000 square feet and include four operating rooms, two procedure rooms, post-acute care unit rooms, and prep and recovery stations.

Construction on the $50 million project will begin soon, and is expected to be completed in 2027.
