The low cost of producing the microcamera could allow physicians to dispose of endoscopes after one use, said IZM scientist Martin Wilke.
Unlike previous digital cameras, the entire new microcamera — one cubic millimeter — can fit on the tip of an endoscope, allowing for high quality images with thin endoscopes.
