Birmingham Heart Clinic will have majority ownership over the new ASC, while Ascension will have minority ownership.

The ASC will be housed in a 9,000-square-foot clinic that is already directly connected to the hospital campus. An estimated $11 million will go into renovating the facility for cardiovascular use.

The groups are working with an architect on final plans, and the clinic is expected to open to patients in 2026.

ASC will offer diagnostic coronary angiograms and coronary interventions. The clinic will also house three catheterization labs, patient waiting areas and imaging centers.

Ascension St. Vincent has  partnered with Birmingham Heart Clinic over several years, according to the report.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
