In September 2019, Justin Leland allegedly submitted roughly 400 fraudulent durable medical equipment billing claims to Medicare, according to an Aug. 7 news release from the Justice Department.
The billing claims were ordered by physicians who solicited and received kickbacks in exchange for ordering the durable medical equipment, according to the report. Medicare paid out $112,310 for these claims.
