The “Speak Up” videos are intended as public service announcements and are available for viewing at The Joint Commission’s YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/user/TheJointCommission. In the videos, characters encounter everyday situations where they have to “speak up” and a parallel is drawn between these instances and patients speaking up about their care in a doctor’s office or hospital, according to a news release.
In addition to the videos, the Speak Up program, which launched in 2002, offers brochures, posters and buttons on a variety of patient safety topics.
