Ms. Koch, the second-wealthiest woman in the world, is a part-time resident of Palm Beach. NYU currently has smaller facilities in West Palm Beach and Delray Beach, Fla., but the new facility will add space for more than a dozen specialties and outpatient surgeries.
The facility is slated to open in 2026. NYU opened its first Florida facility in 2017. The Koch family gift is its largest charitable donation received to date, according to the report.
The new tower will total 77,000 square feet and will be eight stories. It will house internal medicine, orthopedics, cardiology, gastroenterology, pulmonary, rheumatology, neurology, gynecology, urology, endocrinology, oncology, physical therapy, rehabilitation, pain management and bariatric services.
There will be two onsite operating rooms and two endoscopy suites, employing 200 people including 50 physicians. About 150,000 ambulatory care patients are expected to seek care at the facility annually.
NYU Langone first purchased the property in January for $33 million.
