The closure of the two clinics, located in Marshall and Lead Hill, Ark., took 18 months to evaluate, according to the report. The health system cited inflation, a 15% increase in the cost of labor, and rising medication costs as the impetus for closure.
The health system will also temporarily cease service for its inpatient geriatric behavioral health unit.
“We recognize that it’s a lot easier for patients to access care in their home community, but sometimes we have to relocate and consolidate those services to make sure those services are available,” the health system’s CEO and president, Sammie Cribbs Robberson, MSN, told the publication.
