The best ASCs in the South, per Newsweek

Surgery Partners’ Birmingham (Ala.) Surgery Center is the top ASC in the Southern U.S., according to Newsweek’sAmerica’s Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers” list, which ranks 550 of the more than 5,000 Medicare-certified ASCs in the country.

The rankings, created through a partnership with global research firm Statista, includes ASCs in the 25 states with the most facilities, according to CMS data, by individual state, and groups facilities in the remaining states into four regions: Midwest, Northeast, South and West. 

Rankings were based on recommendations from medical professionals and analysis of the facilities’ performance data.

Below are the best ASCs in the South, which includes facilities in Alabama, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Virginia and West Virginia.

2. Baptist Health Surgery Center in Lexington (Ky.)

3. United Surgical Partners International-Memorial Surgery Center (Tulsa, Okla.)

4. HCA Healthcare-Greenview Surgery Center (Bowling Green, Ky.)

5. HCA Healthcare-Reston (Va.) Surgery Center 

6. Sentara Martha Jefferson Outpatient Surgery Center (Charlottesville, Va.)

7. Apex Surgery Center (Ada, Okla.)

8. UVA Health Surgical Care Riverside (Charlottesville, Va.)

9. SCA Health-Premier Surgery Center of Louisville (Ky.)

10. Baptist Health Eastpoint (Louisville, Ky.)

11. Inova Loudoun Ambulatory Surgery Center (Leesburg, Va.)
