Texas woman pleads not guilty to impersonating nurse

Nora Avila, 35, has pleaded not guilty to allegations that she impersonated a nurse for three years at multiple home health companies in the Laredo, Texas, area, Laredo Morning Times reported Sept. 30.

From January 2017 to December 2019, she allegedly used the license number of a registered nurse who had the same first and last name. Along with telling employers she had a degree in nursing, she also cared for patients and was allegedly assigned to train future nurses. 

She was arrested Sept. 11 on two counts of making false statements and one count of aggravated identity theft
