Miguel Afonso, director of Clinico Gastroclinic, spoke to Becker’s about the two things his ASC is most closely working on right now.

Miguel Afonso: 1. How to achieve operational excellence: We are developing a study to identify the bottlenecks at our institution and how to make small changes to achieve operational excellence.

2. How to fully digitize processes: In partnership with an IT company, we are developing a tailor-made software to accomplish full digitization of the workflow, enhancing patient experience, staff burden and improving quality of care metrics.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
