AMN Healthcare surveyed 202 healthcare facility executives/managers in February and March.. They were asked to check all responses that applied from a list of six to the question, “What are the benefits of using locum tenens physicians?”
The six responses and percent of respondents checking each of them are listed below:
- Allows continual treatment of patients: 66 percent
- Immediate availability of providers: 56 percent
- Prevents revenue loss: N/A
- Prevents existing staff burnout: 35 percent
- Other: 5 percent
- Reduces medical errors/readmission: 3 percent
