NYU Langone names GI division director of outcomes 

New York City-based NYU Langone Health named Aasma Shaukat, MD, as director of outcomes research in the division of gastroenterology and hepatology, the system said Aug. 23.

Dr. Shaukat also will serve as co-director of translational research education and careers at the Clinical and Translational Science Institute.

Before joining NYU, Dr. Shaukat served on the faculty at the Minneapolis-based University of Minnesota Medical School for 14 years. 

Dr. Shaukat has published extensively on colorectal cancer screening, prevention and quality indicators for colonoscopy in more than 160 peer-reviewed articles. She also serves on multiple editorial boards.
