Northwestern GI department partners for project to address racial equity

Evanston, Ill.-based Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine’s department of gastroenterology is partnering with a local organization for a program to address racial equity in Chicago and Evanston, Mirage News reported June 3.

The department is partnering with I Am Abel, a Chicago-based nonprofit that sponsors medical and scholarship programs and events. 

The project, titled Chicago Summer Institute for the Development of Physicians and Researchers, will provide mentoring to underrepresented students in STEM and MCAT and preclinical preparation.
