States With the Most and Fewest ASCs

Here are the 10 states with the most ASCs and five states with the fewest ASCs, with their respective number of ASCs in parentheses, according to SDI’s 2008 Outpatient Surgery Center Market Report. SDI identified 5,876 operational outpatient surgery centers, with approximately 4,964 surgery centers as Medicare-certified, with the remaining centers accredited by various other organizations.
