Arizona investor buys North Carolina medical office plaza for $16M+

Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Healthcare Trust of America purchased Durham. N.C.-based Duke Medical Plaza for more than $16 million, Triangle Business Journal reported March 29.

Tenants of the 41,035-square-foot property include Duke Gastroenterology and Duke Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy. The building had interior renovations in 2015 and is valued at $10.8 million.

Healthcare Trust of America’s portfolio includes 469 medical office buildings across 32 states. In 2020, it acquired a $16 million medical office campus in Statesville, N.C., and in 2019 it acquired properties in Charlotte, N.C., according to its website.
