Employment change for most major industries was flat during November, a month that saw a slight increase in nationwide unemployment, up to 9.8 percent after it was 9.6 percent each of the prior three months.
In addition to healthcare, temporary help services saw a strong increase, adding 40,000 jobs; the industry has risen by almost 500,000 jobs since Sept. 2009.
Retail trade employment took one of the biggest hits, losing 28,000 jobs in November, with most of the losses occurring in department stores and furniture and home furnishings stores.
