Optum expected to account for 50%+ of UnitedHealth’s 2020 earnings: 3 things to know

In 2020, healthcare services company Optum will account for more than half of the earnings of its parent group UnitedHealth Group, according to Forbes.

1. Optum projects earningsto be $112 billion in 2020.

2. UnitedHealth’s earnings are expected to grow 13 to 16 percent annually .

3. Optum owns pharmacy benefit manager OptumRx and runs accountable care platform Harmony in southern California, which services 1.5 million people.
